Religion

When I was born I was baptized into the Catholic Religion. I was raised Baptist, then when I was a pre-teen we converted to non-denominational Christian. My dad was a worship pastor and my mom was a Christian missionary to the Deaf community across the world. I no longer identify with any religion, though I have studied Christianity intently and used to believe in what I was taught the Bible said. Through studying the Bible and the original language and its historical context, I believe the Bible teaches to condemn sexual offenders, child molesters, and rapists. The Bible does not condemn the LGBTQPIA+ community. I am now an atheist and do not believe in the Bible anymore.

Please note that I filmed this video before my transition. I no longer identify with my deadname nor do I identify as a gay male.
In this video I talk about the verses in the Bible that reference homosexuality. I also reference history and analyze language.

In this video I discuss what the Bible has to say about being transgender. I also talk about history and language.

 Verses on Homosexuality:
To learn more about the original language and context please see the above videos.

Genesis 19:4-8
Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.” Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”

Leveticus 18:22
Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Romans 1:26-27
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don’t you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don’t care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don’t qualify as citizens in God’s kingdom.

Verses related to being transgender:

Genesis 1:27-28
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lordyour God detests anyone who does this.

Deuteronomy 14:1
You are the children of the Lord your God. Do not cut yourselves.

Verses on Love:

Romans 13:10
Love does no harm to its neighbor, therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

Matthew 22:36-39
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

1 John 3:11-24 (especially 11, 14, 18)
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Verses on Judging:

Matthew 7:1-5
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Luke 6:37
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

James 4:11-12
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

1 John 3:15-16
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Roman 2:1-3
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

John 3:17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
